Ecurie Royal Oak Motor Club is a club of around two hundred people with a love of motorsport, formed in 1970. Over the last few years the club has been running both stage and road rallies as well as having a large social scene. The club currently meets at The Knot Inn, Station Ln, Rushton Spencer, Macclesfield SK11 0QU every Wednesday night from 8.30pm, everyone is welcome. We currently have members embracing all aspects of rallying, from organisers to marshals and radio crews, as well as healthy numbers competing in both stage and road rallies
Over the last few years the club has been running Stage rallies at Desborough Airfield Wilbarston, but sadly due to the poor economic climate the last rally was cancelled due to lack of entries. In june 2009 the club had the exciting news of securing Swynnerton army base in Staffordshire as a venue for stage rallying. As such the Adrian Barker Memorial Stages will move home for the 2009 event and the rally will run on 27th September.
September will also see the running the Oaks Trophy Road Rally using classic lanes around Staffordshire and Derbyshire. Since its revival in 2000 “The Oaks” has developed into a first class event with a reputation for straight forward rallying. We have always believed that competitors prefer “no nonsense” rallying and as such offer a pre plot route over classic territory and avoid the mind numbing navigation prefered by other clubs.
